House Tour

Who's ready for a tour? You are? Great! Well come on board and join the fun!

P.S. The outside is a work in progress. We landscaped the garden bed (click here for more on that) and I'm in the process of painting the front door. We haven't chosen any colors for actual house yet though but I am more than ready to get going on that project.

As I've mentioned before, this house was purchased as a foreclosure in August 2012 and was a blank slate, ahem, correction...a beige slate. The boyfriend and I (with the help of our family) have worked hard to make our house more personable, warm, and comforting.

Months before we even started house hunting I began hunting for furniture and decor at local thrift shops and garage sales. Thanks again mom for allowing me to use your house as a storage unit. You rock! Beforehand, I had no idea what my taste was but I found myself favoring natural woods and modern fabrics and lines. I dubbed my taste "Country Modern".

Some of the rooms have gone through major overhauls while some haven't changed at all. My main goal when moving in was to focus on the main living areas first which is why the living room and the family room have the most changes. I'm not sure what we are going to focus on next but I'm excited to find out.

I'm not going to give complete breakdowns of each room on this page. Instead, I think I'm going to dedicate specific posts to the evolution of each room and link them back to this page.

So without further ado, enjoy the tour!
